..no matter how you say it - it doesn't seem to make any sort of significant impact, right? Not impactful enough to write a blog post on it..
Before we start: You must know that egg whites applied topically will change your life.
For the last two days, I have been doing egg white treatments around my eye area and I must say.. the skin around my eyes is glowing, less porous and definately tighter. Nature's Botox!
(An excerpt from LIVESTRONG)
"As you age, your body, and specifically your skin, begins to change. An older body produces less sebum, the oil that helps moisturize skin. The fat layer under the skin surface starts to fade, and this fat gives skin a rounded appearance. These are two of the key factors that lead to wrinkles. Jerome Z. Litt, M.D., assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, suggests that the protein in egg whites helps tighten skin to reduce wrinkles."
*Ladies and Gents, we all know that wrinkles are one of the most unattractive signs of aging. How can we slow things down and still remain green?
-The protien in egg whites will not completely halt the natural cycle of aging but it will encourage a less abrupt transition and in turn provide you with youthful and naturally lifted and tightened skin.
Let's take a look at the process according to Dr. Litt featured in an article on egg whites by LIVESTRONG.
Dr. Litt recommends applying the egg white face mask to skin before an evening out to provide temporary relief from wrinkles. To prepare the mask, separate the yolks from the whites of two eggs. Beat the eggs whites in a bowl until frothy. Dip your fingers into the foam, and then rub it onto your face. Let the egg white dry for the next 30 minutes. Wash off the mask with cool water, and pat your skin with a clean towel. Moisturize, and apply makeup as usual.
No medical evidence suggests that an egg white face mask permanently removes wrinkles. MedlinePlus does state that eggs contain vitamin A, and applying vitamin A to skin may promote wound healing and reduce wrinkles. An egg white face mask is a frugal approach to help firm up skin and smooth out fine wrinkles. Adding additional ingredients to the mask may enhance the effect. The website Spa Playground suggests using the egg whites if your skin tends to be oily. You may add vitamin E oil, honey and milk to the egg white concoction to change the texture and improve the mask's benefits.
Other habits will help improve the quality of your skin and possibly reduce wrinkles. Choose cosmetics that contain sunscreen to protect the skin from UV damage. Moisturize often, because one affect aging has on the skin is drying. MayoClinic.com suggests that a diet rich in vitamins A, C, B3 and E may also help reduce wrinkles. Studies are inconclusive about the effect of nutrition on the skin, but a healthy diet keeps you feeling your best and improves your overall fitness. If you develop any irritation from the mask, this may be an indication of an allergy or sensitivity to the egg white. Discontinue use of the mask if it causes a rash or acne breakout.
